What would happen if Bangladesh did not get freedom

What would happen if we did not get freedom? The name of Bangla Motor was Pak-Motor, was that all that happened? I saw a small slide show on YouTube. Made by any young man, on the occasion of Victory Day. Shared on Facebook, I saw. Very emotional. That being said, if Bangladesh was not independent, what would happen? All the signboards on the streets of Dhaka were written in Urdu. Cox's Bazar was called the beach of Pakistan. There would be no national memorial. Dr. Yunus was called the Nobel laureate of Pakistan. Shakib Al Hasan was called the Pakistani cricketer who is the No. 1 all-rounder in the world. Etc.

Thanks to those who made that video. But they have little idea what would have happened if the country had not been independent. If the country was not independent, Shakib Al Hasan could never have been the No. 1 all-rounder in the world. Dr. Yunus also did not receive the Nobel Prize.

First of all, if Bangladesh was not independent, the talent of Shakib Al Hasan would not have been discovered. There was no such thing as BKSP. Shakib Al Hasan did not try to be a cricketer. Because no Bengali ever got a chance in the national team of Pakistan. Pakistanis thought Bengalis were subhuman, a little less than human. They do not think Bangali as Muslims.

Pakistani's did not think Bangali as warriors, they thought as a group of weak and small black people. They do not deserve a place in the army. They can't play sports. How can these little weak people who eat rice play cricket? Therefore, if Bangladesh was not independent, no Bengali could have dreamed of becoming a great cricketer. They were only forced to satisfy the taste of milk by supporting the Pakistan cricket team consisting of West Pakistanis. Bangladesh team is playing Test and ODI because Bangladesh has become independent. So many cricketers are being made by playing. A very simple example is at hand. From West Bengal, Bengali cricketers have got very few opportunities in the Indian national team. The day Bangladesh played its first Test against India, Sourav Ganguly was the captain of India, and the West Bengal papers were happy to say that two Bengalis were captaining the two nations' Tests. And when Bangladesh lost to Pakistan, the papers of Calcutta were happy and 11 Bengalis lost to the Pakistanis.

Independence is the cornerstone that has changed the mindset of Bangladesh, enlarged the chest of the people, made them even better. And say BRAC, say Grameen Bank, all are the fruits of the work of building the country after independence. Without independence there would be no BRAC, there would be no Grameen Bank. Today, Bangladesh is doing well in everything, is self-sufficient in food production, has a record in fruit production, is listed as one of the best in the world in fish production, and is one of the best in garment exports. The fact that Bangladesh is doing better than India in the Human Development Index is also possible because we call it an independent country.44 years ago, the Americans used to say, why East Pakistan wants to be independent, there is not a single mineral resource, that country will not be economically viable, they will die. After 44 years, they say, Bangladesh is going to be one of the largest economies in the world.

All this has been possible because the country has become independent. And he dreamed of that freedom, spread it among all, a man who drove the whole country crazy in the name of freedom — his name is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this glorious day, we will respectfully remember Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, pay homage to the leaders of the Liberation War, freedom fighters, 3 million martyrs, millions of heroines and remember, the whole nation was inspired on that day with one mantra - freedom. The only exceptions were a few Al-Badr-Razakar brokers.

This freedom has to be achieved at great cost. Julian Francis wrote an article in the Daily Star on December 16, 2015. In it, he calculated that the number of victims of the genocide committed by the Pakistani forces and their allies in 1971 was more than three million.

I will talk about Azad's mother again. Azad studied in class six at St. Gregory School. His father was very rich, their house in Eskaton had a lake, there were deer, there was a spice garden. Azad's father got married for the second time. In protest, Azad's mother walked out of her husband's palace, taking Azad, a class six student. He took refuge in a slum. Azad passed matriculation, passed IA, passed degree, passed MA from Dhaka University, in 1981. Azad's friends went to war. They carry out guerrilla operations. He said to Azad, will you go to the operation with us. Azad said, I have no one in this world except my mother, my mother has no one but me. I can only go to war if my mother allows me. Azad said to his mother, ‘Mother, can I go to war?’ Mother said, ‘Of course.’ Azad went to war. The freedom fighters took shelter in their house. On 30 August 1971, Pakistani forces raided the freedom fighters' shelters in Dhaka. The Azad's house was shelled. Azad, Jewel, Bashar and others were captured by the Pakistani military. Azad was kept at Ramna police station. When Azad’s mother went to the Ramna police station, the Pakistani army brokers said, ‘Azad was asked to be a witness, let him name tell everyone . Then he will be released. 'Azad’s mother said to the boy, ‘Be strong father, don’t admit anything.’ Azad said, ‘Mom, I don’t eat rice for a few days. Bring me some rice. '

The mother cooked rice for her son with great care and arranged it in a tiffin carrier and came to Ramna police station. He came and saw that there was no boy. This boy never came back. And this mother lived another 14 years, never eating rice again.

Our mothers sacrificed their children for freedom. Our brothers and sisters sacrificed their lives and honor for our freedom. Today we have got freedom. So today we are moving forward. We are proving in the workplace what great potential there is in the people of Bangladesh. The initiative to build the Padma Bridge with their own money has proved that no one will be able to control Bangladesh.

Now we need good governance, we need human rights, we need a free environment, we need meaningful democracy. It is difficult to bring good governance in low-income countries. It is easy to bring good governance if income increases. We are a middle-income country. This time we want more democracy, more human rights, and more freedom. Need a free environment. We need freedom from discrimination, we need freedom from communalism, we need harmony. We can also achieve this goal. Because this country has become independent by fighting. This bloodshed of the hero, this tear of the mother, cannot be lost in the dust of catching it. No one will be able to control this nation.
